The book I chose is called The Gold Threaded Dress by Carolyn Marsden. The scene I chose is when Oy, Liliandra, Kellie Marie, and Hejsky get send to the principal’s office. The main character is Oy, these happened because all the girls were teasing Oy. When Lilianra saw a picture of Oy in a beautiful dress she asked her if she could bring it to school or she wouldn’t be included in a secret club. The next day Oy brought the dress and the girls tried it on at the playground. When a teacher saw them he send them to the principal’s office. I think this book helps you remember that we are all the same and that there is no need to tease someone.

ReplyDeleteThis diorama is a fun one for me to visit in the classroom! I think the book sounds very good. Every year someone does a project on "The Gold-Threaded Dress." It sounded like such a good book, I crept all the way to library one night to read it, but (alas) it wasn't there! Too bad, but I did read another book by this author. It was "The Moon Runner" and I really liked it! I guess I'll never be as fast as the girls in that story, but I enjoyed the theme of friendship in the story. You should try that book!
